Fundraising for the trauma rehabilitation centre in Israel

On October 7, 2023, a Hamas terrorist commando infiltrated from Gaza into southern Israel and began to cruelly murder and torture the population of the kibbutzim, to rape women multiple times, to torture children in front of their parents, to murder parents in front of their children, to burn alive...

The deliberate cruelty was meant to work through time, to paralyze witnesses. And not only the immediate ones who found the victims, but also those who later saw the footage the terrorists filmed. The kidnapping of many hostages to Gaza had a similarly horrific effect. Imagine if one of your loved ones had fallen into the hands of these insane killers.

Today, we know how often the trauma of the Shoah continued to have a corrosive effect on generations of survivors.

Current Israeli society, too, is wounded and in need of healing. The need for such help for people with the trauma of the War of the Iron Sword is proving to be a high priority.

This project is symbolically titled HATIKVA 7 (HOPE 7), Hatikvah is Israel's national anthem and the murderous attack began on October 7. It also happens to be the address of the site of aid and support.

WITH THIS COLLECTION WE WANT TO SUPPORT THE WORK OF THE TRAUMA-REHABILITATION CENTER.

Here a psychology, psychotherapy, internal medicine, physiotherapy and other specialists are available for those in need, as well as the possibility of resilience practice and rehabilitation. A local rabbi will also attend the centre.

As past experience shows, the creation of such nests of safety and immediate professional help in coping with the stress experienced is most needed. Israel will need this help long after the war is over.

The fundraising was approved by a decision of the board of the Czech Friends of Israel Association and will be implemented through the Znesnaze donation platform.
