A Wildlife Rescue Station is a place of first aid for nature.
It receives animals that have gotten into trouble due to human activity, traffic, mowing, fences, windows, an exhausted landscape – as well as those that were simply unlucky. These include orphaned young animals found without their parents, birds after collisions with glass, hedgehogs unprepared for winter, mammals hit by cars, and animals that would not survive the night without professional care.
The purpose of a rescue station is not to own or keep animals. Its mission is to return them to where they belong – back into the wild. Each individual goes through quarantine, treatment, rehabilitation, and a quiet preparation for release. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to return animals to nature; in many cases their injuries result in lifelong disabilities.
A rescue station is a place where expertise meets empathy, experience meets patience, and where every saved life reminds us that human help can mean the difference between an end and a new beginning.
Who We Are and What We Do
All our lives we have been dedicated to animals – their rescue, breeding, return to the wild, care for nature, and passing these values on to future generations. Working with children is key for us; children’s ❤️ are as open as ours. We believe that together we can protect the piece of land that surrounds us.
Throughout our lives we have focused on breeding birds – from parrots, owls, and birds of prey to specific groups of songbirds and insectivorous birds. We have deep experience with common and rare species of rodents and lagomorphs, mammals, terrarium animals, small carnivores, active cynology, and we also care daily for large animals. Our knowledge portfolio is broad and supported by 40 years of practice.
Every year, hundreds of hedgehogs pass through our hands – animals that would not survive in the wild without human help. In spring, together with children from kindergartens and primary schools, we return them to nature. Children gain not only an unforgettable experience, but above all a relationship with nature and an understanding that every life has value.
We provide animals with basic veterinary care, actively hand-rear mammal and bird young from their first week of life, deal with obstetrics and incubation, and have experience with long-term rehabilitation before release back into the wild.
Our hearts are open – to nature, to animals, to the planet of our children….
We are an animal sanctuary. A place where love for animals, deep respect for nature, and everyday work that is often invisible naturally intertwine – yet save lives.
The Only Wildlife Rescue Station in the Moravian-Silesian Region
The Moravian-Silesian Region is one of the largest in the Czech Republic, yet currently only one wildlife rescue station operates here, located far from our area. This means long transports, unnecessary delays, and in some cases the loss of a chance to save a life. Not every finder of an animal can transport it over such distances, and the transport capacity of the existing station cannot cover everything sufficiently.
This is also why people contact us daily. They bring injured birds, orphaned young, hedgehogs hit by cars, and exhausted animals found in gardens, on roads, and in forests. We help as much as we can – but besides legislative limitations, we also face the limits of facilities that were originally built as a sanctuary, not as a fully-fledged rescue station.
What We Already Have – and What We Need to Build
We currently have a large number (around 70) of aviaries, flight aviaries, enclosures, and runs that we have built at our own expense since 2018. After the devastating floods in 2024, with the help of donors we repaired many enclosures and built new ones.
We would further like to build:
- rehabilitation aviaries and enclosures,
- aviaries and netted outdoor runs.
We have also newly acquired a building that opens the door to further development. Here we would like to create:
- quarantine facilities for newly admitted animals,
- a treatment room for acute and follow-up care,
- facilities for daily care (feeding, food preparation, hygiene),
- a small storage area for feed, supplies, and materials,
- basic veterinary equipment, incubators, quarantine boxes, transport crates, cages, capture tools,
- other necessary equipment and supplies required by legislation,
- feed, special diets, hand-rearing formulas for young animals, etc.
The building also includes spacious attic areas, which we plan to convert into additional necessary spaces for the rescue station. This, however, represents a major investment and is planned for a later stage of reconstruction.
Everything will be built gradually and sensitively, with the real needs of the animals as our top priority.
We would like to dedicate the year 2026 to this entire process – administrative, construction, and professional – so that the rescue station can function stably and sustainably in the years to come.
Why We Need Public Support
The investments we have put into the rescue sanctuary over the years have been enormous – financially, physically, and mentally. Still, we feel the time has come to take the next step. Not alone, but together with you – with the public.
We believe that establishing this fundraiser will allow us to:
- gradually rebuild and redesign the building,
- purchase equipment for the rescue station,
- ensure professional care for wild animals,
- create a stable place of help for our region,
- expand educational and environmental programs for children and adults.
Help Us Give More Lives a Chance 🐾
This journey is not easy, but it has deep meaning. An official rescue station will allow us to save more animals, faster and more professionally, and to help where it is needed most today.
Become part of our dream.
Help us build a place where animals get a second chance – a place more accessible for finders from our area and border regions.
We would be delighted if not only individuals, but also families, schools (through charity days), and employees (through fundraising challenges) became involved in the development and operation of the rescue station.
Cooperation with companies that care about what is happening to nature around us is one of the key forms of help. Donations are tax-deductible, and we offer a wide range of promotional opportunities.
A Small Regular Donation?
We know many of you help elsewhere as well, but please consider setting up a small regular payment, for example 50 or 100 CZK. You will hardly feel the outgoing payment, but for us even small amounts translate directly into help for animals in need – steady and reliable help.
Every crown brings us closer to our goal – a place where animals receive fast, professional, and dignified care.
Thank you for walking this path with us. ❤️
How You Can Help
💚 Donate any amount – even a small gift has great meaning.
💚 Set up a standing order for any amount that does not burden you but gives us stability.
💚 Share our fundraiser with people who love nature.
💚 Start a fundraising challenge with friends, family, colleagues, or at a gathering.
💚 Schools and organizations – teachers and parents can motivate students, for example with a “week without sweets,” donating the saved money to help animals.
💚 Corporate matching gifts – employees donate, and the employer matches the amount.
💚 Keep your fingers crossed that this dream becomes reality.
We value every donor. We know that most of you are not wealthy, but you care deeply about animals and the landscape around us. Together, we believe we can do this.
Financial Transparency
All funding must be documented down to the last crown.
Building all the necessary facilities will be financially demanding. Some amounts may seem astronomical, yet we believe we can achieve this together.
Overview of Basic Works and Costs:
1. Ground floor renovation – foundation of the rescue station
(estimated 450,000–550,000 CZK)

- small equipment for first aid.
4. Construction of outdoor aviaries, netted runs, terrain adjustments
(estimated 250,000–350,000 CZK)
Daily operation of the rescue station involves many small but essential expenses.
5. Future expansion – attic spaces
(long-term goal, depending on funds raised, estimated 1,100,000–1,450,000 CZK)
- gradual conversion of the attic into additional indoor spaces (electricity, water, heating, insulation, windows, doors, stairs, partitions, ceilings, floors, equipment, sanitation),
- quiet rooms for young animals,
- wintering and isolation areas,
- space for education of children and the public.
This attic stage will be carried out gradually, according to available funds.
Every donated crown moves us closer – even if we build step by step.
Transparency and Responsible Use of Donations
An important note at the end: every spent part of the donations will be fully documented. As organizers of a public fundraiser, we are required to prove exactly how the funds were used – and we take this responsibility very seriously.
Every investment in the building, equipment, and animal care is recorded, documented with accounting records, and verifiable. Donors can rely on the fact that their help truly goes where it belongs – to the animals and to building the rescue station.
We will regularly inform you about the progress of the fundraiser and the use of funds through updates.ctvím aktualit.
