Start Right – From Orphanage to Adulthood

One day, you simply have to leave. You’ve got a vocational certificate or high school diploma, a few bags, a little money to get started—and an entire life ahead of you.

Your educators helped you find your first job and a place to stay.

The family that already failed you once... No stable support system is waiting.

You’re scared of being alone. You’re worried you won’t make it financially—and that debt collectors will come.

Some already have. Because you helped someone from your family. And despite all their promises to pay, the burden fell on you. Every year, hundreds of young people leave children’s homes or foster care and face exactly this.

Adulthood—cold and hard. And if you have no one to call... you're completely on your own. Picture yourself at 18 or 20 years old.

How many times did you call your mom, dad, or someone who knew you and had your back?Who can they call?

At yourchance, we have an answer. It’s called Start Right.

Thanks to your support, we provide young people with:

• A personal guide—someone who knows them, understands what they’ve been through, and sticks by them even when others walk away
• Mentoring, psychological support, and legal assistance
• Help finding work and housing—because it rarely works out perfectly the first time
• A group of peers who welcome them
• And most importantly, a real shot at standing on their own two feet

We also offer a range of specialized services tailored to each young person’s situation—from crisis intervention to trauma therapy.

This isn’t one-time charity. It’s long-term, systematic support.

We’re yourchance o.p.s., a public-benefit organization with 15 years of experience supporting young people as they leave children’s homes and foster families.

We run Start Right—the only nationwide integration program of its kind in the Czech Republic.
