My name is Karolina and I am 37 years old, my son Dominik celebrated his 10th birthday in the summer.

Dominik has a severe form of autism, severe mental retardation, problems with eating and defecating. He is highly hypersensitive and completely non-verbal.

Unfortunately, he cannot express his feelings or say specifically when something hurts him. I have to observe everything day after day. Unfortunately, this is very difficult for both of us because my son expresses all this only by screaming and having fits or self-harming.

I live alone with Dominik and because my son needs help in all areas of life, he is completely dependent on my care.

How will the fundraiser help?

Now Dominik needs to have his teeth treated and that is unthinkable for us when we are conscious. My son is already big and strong that even during a simple medical examination, I and the nurse have to hold him and we have a lot to do.

The treatment of such children's teeth is performed under general anesthesia.

Unfortunately, the problem is that there is a long waiting period in facilities where it would be possible to pay for it from health insurance.

I was contacted by a clinic where Dom's teeth would be treated much earlier, but unfortunately we would have to pay for the treatment.

The preliminary price of such treatment was set at 13,000 CZK for the first hour of work and each additional 15 minutes at a price of 3,500 CZK. Unfortunately, the exact price will only be known after the procedure, since the son does not open his mouth even during the consultation and so the exact condition of his teeth is not known. The treatment date is 10.12.2025

Unfortunately, I cannot pay such an amount for the treatment for my son myself. So I am turning to you again with a request for help.

I receive a care allowance for my son. But since my son doesn't eat solid food and the only thing he gets is a nutritional milk diet, which despite all my efforts I fully reimburse my son for. The nutritionist told me that since Dominik doesn't fit into the tables, we can't be given a prescription. He doesn't fit into the tables because I didn't consult anyone about weight loss years ago and I started buying nutritional drinks for him myself. At that time, my son was still small and he had a much lower consumption. Now I buy about 200 bottles every month, unfortunately this reimbursement makes it impossible for me to save on dental treatment with the care allowance.
