Help by sharing

Our story began about 9 years ago, in an animal shelter, where hope is not just a word, but an everyday reality. A world full of stories – some sad, others full of hopelessness and anger, but all connected by one thing: the desire for a second chance. And it continues to this day – with heart, hands, and everyday care.

Animal shelter – a place where every new beginning has its own story

At that time, an acquaintance told us about an old man who had a large mare left to take care of after his grandchildren. He bought it for his grandchildren so that they could visit him and spend time in nature, on his farm. As is often the case, over time, the grandchildren grew tired of the mare and rode it less and less. Anyone who has a horse, or any grazing animal, knows how physically demanding it is to care for it, especially when you are 92 years old. When we visited the owner at the farm, an extremely gigantic mare was waiting for us in the barn, whose ribs we could count with the naked eye, her halter was cut into the flesh, and her hooves were trampled. Although the owner tried his best, a large horse simply needs much more feed than a pony or the goat standing next to it. He wanted to treat his grandchildren to a horse so much, he wanted them to ride him in the countryside so much that he could not allow anyone to take the mare away. A sad story, fortunately with a happy ending.

In time, another mare, Zaja, arrived from a Slovak settlement, with deep sores from a barbed chain, because you cannot find horses tied up in these places otherwise. Last year, a very sad fate befell a surrendered mare with deep sadness in her eyes, the mare Kája, she also arrived devastated by beatings and life on a chain from a Slovak settlement. Meanwhile, over 50 sheep, goats, pigs, ponies, llamas, dozens of unwanted rabbits and guinea pigs, most in poor condition, we were not able to save all of them, but we wrote many stories with a happy ending.

Last September, during the floods, we lost 1300 bales of hay for the whole year until the next harvest. Professional tarpaulins could not handle the onslaught of water from the sky, the hay was like a sponge, it absorbed all the flood water from below. With the number of animals we have in the shelter, we count every crown and it is important for us to buy hay directly from the field when it is cheaper. After storage, the prices are many times higher and unfortunately we cannot afford that. Likewise, in winter, when it snows, importing hay is almost impossible.

Paradoxically, thanks to the floods, we found a place, on the highest point of the shelter, where it will be possible to build a hayloft so that it is safe from water even in a 100-year flood.

The purchase of a hayloft, given the amount of hay we need to store, is beyond our financial means. That is why we are asking for your help.

The animals we have rescued have their own space with us for life. We have promised them a home, safety, an abundance of food, a dignified life full of love and understanding of their needs.

The rescued animals in our shelter need more and more care – quality food, veterinary treatment and daily cleaning. We face a big challenge: a one-time investment in building a hayloft, which will allow us to store hay for the winter, when supplies are most critical. If we buy hay directly from the field at harvest time, we will save considerable costs and ensure that the animals will have enough dry and high-quality feed throughout the winter. A hayloft is not just a building – it is a guarantee that our animals will survive the winter healthy, with a full belly and at ease.

We currently care for more than 400 animals, 145 of which need hay to survive.

If you have an open heart for animals and want to help us, join our collection to buy a hayloft and fill it with hay. This year we will need at least 2,200 bales of hay. Every donation, whether small or large, will help us take a step forward and take care of our rescued animals. Together we can ensure that they get everything they need to live a happy and contented life.

Thank you for your help and support. Without you, this story would not have a happy ending.

About us...

We are a non-profit organization, an association that devotes its entire existence to caring for animals and nature in general. We still believe that our work can change the world. We provide shelter to animals in need - whether due to abandonment, abuse or other difficult life circumstances, or animals from an estate. Our shelter becomes a home for animals that need love, care and a second chance at a better life.

Our vision is not only to provide animals with a safe space, but also to create awareness about nature and animal protection on a wider scale. We believe that everyone who joins us can be part of this positive change. In addition to caring for animals, we also organize educational and awareness-raising events that aim to motivate the public to take a responsible approach to nature protection and respect for living beings.

Our effort is to create a space for animals that deserve a new start, but we also support legislative changes that will ensure better conditions for all animals in our society. Without your help, this would not be possible - together we give animals a chance for a better life.

Help us change the world for the better. Every contribution, every show of support moves us one step closer to our goal -
