Every drop of water for rescued animals

We are an animal shelter that takes care of homeless animals – abandoned, abused, abandoned, or animals from estates that were left without a master after the death of their owner. Every day we give them care, peace, safety and often a second chance at life. Water is a gift that all living beings, plants, and nature in general need.

The operation of the shelter is very financially demanding, so we try to save every penny.

We build all the facilities for the animals ourselves, all the care for the animals, including basic veterinary treatments, is our full-time job, we harvest a large part of the hay ourselves, we raise crickets, grasshoppers, and other insects for our terrarium animals, we grow our own vegetables in season, and out of season we germinate seeds as green food, especially for parrots and birds in general, we also germinate grass for cats, etc. We try to be self-sufficient and at the same time more sustainable.

One of our biggest financial items is water.

And because we want to be more sustainable and self-sufficient, we would like to build a rainwater harvesting system. For the last few years, we have been harvesting water from the largest stables, which has worked well for us, and we would like to implement this system on all stables and aviaries that have a roof, which is about 175m of roof. And that can be a lot of water.

A rainwater harvesting system would help us significantly reduce costs and at the same time be more environmentally friendly.

What we would like to purchase:

💧 Large 1000 liter tubs and tanks for rainwater harvesting

🪜 Rain gutters, downspouts and accessories for draining water from roofs

🔧 Hoses and basic equipment for distributing water around the premises.

We would like to ask for your help. Even a small contribution will help. Just as we will collect drop by drop to retain water for rescued animals, we will also collect crowns to purchase everything we need.

We would need 10-15 vats, at least 10 large-volume containers, we are blessed with roofs for the water to fall, about 175m, if we could manage to cover them all, we would have water all year round.

💚 You will help us relieve our water expenses, but especially nature and animals that are fully dependent on us.

From the funds, we will purchase large-volume containers for collecting water, as well as a gutter system for all the roofs we have. The water will flow into the tubs from where the animals will be able to drink it directly, we will not have to carry water in watering cans or pump chlorinated water from the water supply.

If donors help us raise more funds, we will use them to buy feed, hay, straw, or to buy materials to expand the shelter.
