CONTRIBUTE TO THE FIRST WEBSITE ON ACCESSIBLE ABORTION IN CZECHIA

Did you know that right now, the only information about abortion in public space in Czechia comes from anti-choice organizations, spreading misleading and harmful narratives to those seeking help?

We need your support to create a trustworthy, fact-based website that offers clear, unbiased information about abortion services.

Let’s make sure everyone has access to accurate resources and safe options.

Your contribution can make a difference in protecting reproductive rights and providing vital support to pregnant people in need.

Our main goal for the next months is to create a website that will gather all necessary information about abortion in the Czech Republic: available methods, price ranges, current procedures and any other practical information which might be useful for people who need abortion. This will be the very first project like that in the country as currently there is no other institution or initiative that works on this topic and there is no place where to find reliable and trustworthy information about abortion. 

Abortion in the Czech Republic is legal, but it doesn’t necessarily means it’s accessible for everyone. Do you know that according to our research from 2023, only 47% Czech hospitals perform abortions for people from EU countries who don’t have permanent stay in the Czech Republic? Situation is even more difficult for those who are not from the EU. Those usually need to travel to neighbouring countries or order abortion pills online. All those scenarios will be covered on our website and provide a complex and comprehensive guide on what to do if you can’t access abortion locally. 

From the very beginning of our activities we try to practice intersectional feminism. We aim to include many different perspectives which can influence the experience of abortion: country of origin, material status, (dis)abilities. This is why we have high ambitions about our website - part of it will be also translated into Czech Sign Language in form of short videos. The content will be available in 4 languages: Czech, English, Ukrainian and Polish.

We believe that creating a complex and accessible online platform will contribute to Improving access to information related to abortion services. We hope that democratization of knowledge about reproductive health makes it more accessible for everyone despite the language they speak, digital skills or disability.

Crowdfunded money will be used to create a website, the very first info-point about abortion services in the Czech Republic. Our expenses include services of all the people contributing to website’s creation:

• webdesigner
• graphic designer
• editors
• researchers
• translators into English, Polish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese
• testers
• photographer

On top of that we are planning to create a promotional campaign in order to reach people who potentially might need abortion. Within the campaign we are planning to produce posters and flyers and distribute them around cities in the Czech Republic.
