Children's technical talent deserves to be supported

We awaken children's enthusiasm for polytechnics.

Technology, physics, chemistry, environmental education and art. These are all areas that we connect in the Technical Youth Club within the framework of children's polytechnic education, offering them the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills that are not taught in primary school.

In Litoměřice, we founded the Technical Youth Club in 2012, where we awaken technical talent in children. Here they encounter robotics, programming, a sewing workshop, functional or railway modeling, 3D printing, and the basics of artificial intelligence. We try to connect these areas and teach children cooperation and team work. We try to show children that cutting a hole or hammering a nail is nothing complicated, just like preparing data for 4D printing, or programming a game or robot, and that they can do it all.

That is exactly what we try to instill in children at the Technical Youth Club and give them a helping hand in developing their technical talent.

For 13 years, TKM was incorporated as an independent unit under the DDM Rozmarýn Litoměřice and functioned and developed very well. With the arrival of the new management of the DDM, there were disagreements on the way TKM functions within the DDM and, after agreement with the management of the city of Litoměřice, it was separated and a new independent leisure center was created. The Station of Interest Activities - Technical Youth Club was established under the new founder, which is the Institute of Technical Education z.u.

Since September 1, 2024, TKM has been operating independently, which is great on the one hand. We can further develop a project that is unique in the Czech Republic and, as a station of interest activities, the only one that deals with technology. On the other hand, we have entered the fickle territory of financing. As a school facility, we are entitled to funding from the state budget through regional norms, but we will sign the contract with the Ústí nad Labem Region in January 2025 with the right to funding for 2026. This year is crucial for us to survive and maintain the standard of quality of support and education for our children. Therefore, we are looking for sources of financing and one of the options is support from all who are not indifferent to the development of talented children in technology. According to our experience, this is an area with high added value and today we can already document the successes of our graduates studying at secondary technical schools, universities and already completed studies with the degree of Ing. at technical universities.

The collection is intended to ensure support for talented children in technology within the TKM and the Institute of Technical Education. The funds will be used both for technical equipment and for costs associated with the activities of the TKM, including lecturers' fees.

The aim of the Institute of Technical Education is to support "technical education" among people of any generation.

We are trying to build a facility where everyone can be educated in science, technical research areas and general hobby activities of a similar focus, whether directly or indirectly.

Primarily through regular and irregular activities, professional seminars, conferences, exhibitions, workshops and other educational activities.

Our goals:

1. Technical education for all generations

2. Popularization of science and technology

3. Integration of technical education in ITV into the learning process of primary and secondary schools

4. Cooperation with businesses and entrepreneurs, local companies, etc.

5. Cooperation with universities

6. Support for the Technical Club of hobby education for children and adults

7. The concept of a shared workshop - the Sdílna project - a shared craft workshop
