Help Us Build Dignified and Sustainable Housing for Seniors in Opava

Old age should not mean loneliness, barriers, or uncertainty. Yet today, many seniors live in conditions that make everyday life difficult and limit their independence. The Novus Horizont Foundation aims to change this reality.

At the address 6. května Street, 746 01 Opava – Milostovice, we plan to build 40 fully barrier-free housing units for seniors, offering safe, peaceful, and long-term sustainable living connected with community and healthcare facilities.

What Will Be Created in the Complex

The project is designed so that seniors can live independently while never being left without help:

• 40 fully barrier-free apartments
• Underground parking
• A park and green areas with spaces for rest and social gatherings
• Shared areas for spending time with family, children, and grandchildren
• A community café as a natural meeting place

The complex will also include:

• An on-site social worker, accommodated directly within the building, available to assist seniors at any time if needed
• A healthcare center for seniors, providing basic medical care, preventive check-ups, pedicure services, and other services essential for the health and comfort of residents

Thanks to this setup, seniors will not have to rely on complicated travel and will have help and care literally within reach.

Why We Need Your Help

We already have the land available, including parcels with existing buildings and courtyards. However, to begin the project, we first need to prepare an architectural and urban planning study that will define the exact layout and design of the entire complex.

Without this study, it is not possible to:

• start the construction approval process
• apply for public subsidies and grants
• approach additional investors and partners

How the Funds from the Campaign Will Be Used

All funds raised will be used transparently and exclusively for:

• preparation of the architectural and urban planning study
• design of barrier-free apartments and shared spaces
• technical documentation for the next phases of the project
